The Green House

All information you need for a green house.

Green Bathroom

The increasingly intense concern for the environment, and for our health, makes us more often to adopt green alternatives. And your home can be green-friendly too. For now, let’s see what you can do in your bathroom to be more “green-friendly.”

A few simple adjustments to your bath can reduce its impact on the environment.

Installing fans to tap and shower head will reduce the amount of water used. Taps and showers with fans use 50% less water, providing twice as much power. If they were used all over the country we could save millions of cubic meters of water.

Using a low flow toilet you will use less water.

Replacing water heater tank with another tank model without reservoir will reduce the amount of energy and hot water costs. A tank without tank will heat only the amount of water needed, when it is needed. In addition, it needs a signal light, so it emits less carbon dioxide and improves air quality into the home.

Traditional systems for water circulation are using a pump to send hot water from water heater to faucets, and back. This system provides hot water almost instantly, but wastes a large amount of energy heating the water and making her move.

Light up your bathroom with energy saving bulbs. Compact fluorescent bulbs use less energy than incandescent ones and last longer.

When redecorating, look for paint with a decreased volatile complex organic (VOC). These paints are less toxic.

Even little things like choosing 100% natural materials for towels and accessories can make your bathroom more “green”.
Reduce by half the time spent showering! Every minute spent in the shower consume 25 liters of water.

Choose furniture made from recycled or eco handmade materials.

The bathroom is consuming more water than any other room in the house. Because of polluted water with detergents and other hygiene products, plus its energy consumption for heating, the bathroom of any of us has a major impact on the environment.

Use care products that have organic certification. Most commercial shampoos contain chemicals that put the health at risk.

Many of them come into the environment and then can affect it irreparably.

Install solar panels to heat your water. The investment will pay off in a few years, with serious loss of energy bill – in addition, no coal or oil will burn for your hot showers.
