Ways to wrap a more eco-friendly gift this Christmas

Every year, people use tons of wrapping paper each holiday season to create festive gifts, which means that tens of thousands of trees or more are sacrificed for this purpose. If you wish to create beautifully wrapped gifts without wasting paper, you should try using recycled paper instead. Homemade gift wraps are not only eco-friendly, they are also cheap and fun for the kids. The things you can use to create a lovely warp for this year’s Christmas presents have no limit and the only things you will need to buy are the Christmas bows and ribbons. You can use anything from old maps and craft paper to newspapers and calendars. If you wish, you can also use plain brown paper and let the little ones use the skills they attained during craft classes to adorn it. Using reused materials to create something unique will not only help save the tress, it will also make the receiver of the gift happier, because the wrapping will have your personal touch and warm feelings inside.

Use brown paper, a little ingenuity and ribbons

The most convenient and affordable homemade wrapping idea is using regular brown paper and a lovely strand of ribbon. Take out the brown paper you have around the house and either ask your kids to paint and draw things on it, let it to dry and then warp the Christmas presents with it or wrap the gifts first and let your children draw afterwards. Either methods works fine, if you make sure the children do not use paint that will go through the paper and ruin everything. You can also use stamps and glitter to make the wrapping look festive and unique. In short, anything goes, as long as you do it with your own hands, people will love it. The final touch would be the ribbon of course. You can buy it or reuse old Christmas ribbon you kept for decorating purposes.

Use old maps, calendars and newspapers

Things you would normally throw away such as newspapers, old maps and calendars may come in handy during the holidays, because you will be able to use them not only as wrapping paper, but also as materials for handmade ornaments. You can use the page with December from the calendar to wrap the gifts and add a fitting adornment instead of a ribbon and the result will be amazing. Newspaper wrapping is already a thing and you can find images with people that tried this trick already and are happy with the results.
